Azirah Hashim is Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics and also affiliated to the Asia-Europe Institute, Universiti Malaya. She is President of the International Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA) from 2021 to 2024 and founder of MAAL.

Prof Shameem Rafik Galea

Shameem Rafik-Galea is a Professor of Applied Linguistics at SEGi University, Malaysia. She was previously attached to Universiti Putra Malaysia prior to her retirement in in 2017. She continues to be active in the field through MAAL. Prof Dr Cordelia Mason

Cordelia Mason is an informal knowledge broker with over 30 years of experience in the learning industry. She has written case-studies, textbooks for the Malaysian schools, book chapters, quality manuals, curriculum manuals, research reports, journal articles, lyrics, and other literary work.

AP Dr Zarina Othman

Zarina Othman is an Associate Professor at Pusat Pengajian CITRA Universiti (School of Liberal Studies), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia. She completed her PhD at Lancaster University, United Kingdom. She is currently the Deputy Dean for Language Competence She is a discourse analyst in the field of linguistics. AP Dr Hadina Habil

Hadina Habil, Ph.D, is an Associate Professor at Language Academy, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor, MALAYSIA.  She teaches Discourse Analysis, and Sociolinguistics to TESL students and Corporate Communication to Master’s students of Language Academy.  Her research interests are in the areas of Applied Linguistics, Language and Communication in Professional Practices, TESL, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and Teaching English for Specific Purposes (TESP), and Computer Mediated Communication. She has supervised students in her areas of interests and presented and published papers in the field nationally and internationally.

Dr Daniel Chow Ung T’Chiang

Daniel Chow Ung T’chiang (PhD) is the Deputy Dean of Research and Development at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Universiti Malaya.  His areas of interest include English for Specific Purposes and Critical Genre Analysis. He is currently involved in research projects on Professional Discourses and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  He is the Treasurer of MAAL.
